Waking Up
is more fun together

Exploring awareness, nonduality, oneness, fundamental wellbeing, nonseparation, the world as illusion (and the perfectly helpful inadequacy of all these maps) — relationally, irreverently, integrally.

Honestly? I have absolutely no idea.

Perhaps nothing. Perhaps "waking up" is only good for the sake of itself.

A great deal less certainty (in one way) and perhaps more (in another).

A comprehensive overview of metamaps — and the awareness that every map, including these, is constructed.

New places to play and connect — new ways of understanding "self," "other," and "world."

Integrally informed (hot) takes on enlightenment and that kind of stuff.

Drawing from Christianity, Vedanta and Buddhism.

Lots of practice with other people.

A temporary community of likeminded psychos psychonauts.

These maps aren't territory, but they sure change where you go.

01
Construct-Awareness & Integral Overview — seeing the constructing itself, wake up / grow up / clean up / open up / show up, the 1st-, 2nd- and 3rd-person faces of God, seer / seeing / seen, gross / subtle / causal / nondual state-stages
02
Different Kinds of Nonduality? — Sean Esbjörn-Hargens’ ice cream cone model, David Loy on the nondualities of thought, action and perception, many harbors one ocean, time and timelessness
03
Fundamental Wellbeing: What’s Up With the Finders Model? — Jeffery Martin’s research on persistent nonsymbolic experience, locations one through four, tournament-style practice, sinking in, the 41-minute threshold, and a healthy dose of skepticism
04
How Waking Up Goes Wrong: Common Mistakes and Ethics — it’s-all-a-video-game, the love conduit, no one’s doing anything, the peace prison, what are you surrendering to?, completion projects, misapplied wholeness, growing up interprets waking up
05
A Course in Miracles — forgiveness, the dream of separation, projection makes perception, defenses do what they defend against, special vs. holy relationship, the tiny mad idea we forgot to laugh at
06
Christian Mysticism — the Jesus Prayer, “the kingdom of heaven is at hand,” how the Gospels took shape, The Cloud of Unknowing, anchoresses and Quakers, Richard Rohr and Cynthia Bourgeault
07
Integral Buddhism — Big Mind, Mondo Zen and “our angst is our liberation,” Diane Hamilton, Mahamudra demystified, why shadow work comes first
08
Relationship as Ontology — the tunnel between us, pi as a relationship, coaching as a mirror, Focus and Flow as waking-up practice, bringing awareness itself into relating
09
Taking the Weird Stuff Seriously (But Not Too Seriously) — superheroes, manifesting, siddhis, psychedelics, binaural beats, death and rebirth; the pre/trans fallacy; render unto Caesar
10
Why Relationality? — no civilizational consensus, language for the “ineffable,” the map changes the territory, how relating keeps us honest and lands the states, Almaas on soul, the headless way

Syllabus subject to change in relationship with the course.

Themes

No threat to ego (bc there is no) Love & truth Time? Interdependence Sameness & difference Separation? Shadows Gifts & limits of language Relating impacts Humility & the neverending Gratitude, awe & service

This is about practicing and playing.
Lectures and materials are here to support experimenting together.

There's a ton of dope practices, frames, and insights around what is often considered the point of existence (and therefore hotly debated).

There's lots of video content, plus a written companion featuring orientation, perception, relationship, and integration guides. The core product is all about the 2 hours every week that you spend practicing with other people– to build exceptional ways of relating from wildly new yet absurdly normal seeming-experiences.

In the Moment

Live coaching on awareness and recognition. Some coaching around emotional blocks as they arise.

Relational & Group

Experimental new practices that leverage other people. Waking up is more fun together — and the "together" is practice.

Tournament Style

Empirical approach: two practices per day, rotate every few days, keep what works best for you.

Throughout the Day

Simple practices you can do anywhere from coffeeshop to boardroom. Some flow, some focus.

Prayer Requests

Every session closes with prayer requests. Take that however you take it.

Irreverence

The kind that comes from experience and transcludes seriousness.

Awareness of awareness • Collapsing past, future & present • Becoming the room • Shift into immediacy • Relaxing into experience • Swap 1st & 2nd person • Delight in feeling good • Turn towards all • Existential gratitude • Looking at space • Identity flux • Do nothing • River of experience • Meditating in chaos • Bedtime love routine • Examining the 'I' • Unprovoked happiness • Knowingness • The Jesus Prayer • Big Mind • Pure listening • Fundamental okayness • Sinking in • The tunnel between us • How is this me? • Awe connoisseurship • Be triumph-informed

18 years leading consciousnessy stuff around the world

22+ years of highly disciplined introspective and meditative practice, including obscene amounts of interpersonal practice. Religious Studies degree from Rice University (Sid Rich '08). Creator of Relatefulness, a communication methodology and coaching ecosystem. Founder and CEO of UpTrust.

Drawing from Ken Wilber, A Course in Miracles, Ken Wapnick, Sean Esbjörn-Hargens, Christian Mysticism, the Tao Te Ching, David Loy, Mahamudra, Integral Zen, Almaas — and aliens, superheroes, psychedelics, binaural beats, and whatever else turns out to be relevant.

Jordan’s gentle approach to the waking up territory showed me more about the kind of gentle lovingness I can bring to any area of life than about beliefs or frameworks, though there are those too.
Max P.
The thing that stuck with me the most was not assuming all traditions are pointing to the exact same territory, and remaining skeptical of “ultimate” truth claims from any one tradition. That helped me more freely explore each of them.
James D.
The daily meditations were golden to me. They felt like daily prayers. It’s like through the practice, remembering grace became a habit.
Fabiola R.
It was good to meet my own tradition again without the associations I’d carried from the past. Being with everyone deepened the meditation exponentially.
Jayne J.
