Meditating in Chaotic Environments 🕺🏼

Dancers who need to perform on turf practice on turf. Tennis players who need to win on a grass court practice on a grass court. Apparently if you study for a test drunk, you should take your test drunk (state dependent memory). So if we want to be present in any given situation, we’re better served meditating in a bunch of different environments. In the car on a road trip. In a noisy coffee shop. At our parent’s house.

Altars and special rooms can be helpful for new practices, like a sandbox in coding. But the old adage to “practice like you want to play” applies to presence as much as it does to sports and music. If we want to embody our higher wisdom in relationships, let's make sure to integrate our practice into our relating. Hence the Relateful approach, and a benefit of practicing online, anywhere.

With love, Jordan
