Best Holiday Movie: "Stutz" (Netflix) 💆‍♂️

OK this isn’t a holiday movie but it came out recently and I loved it. Actor Jonah Hill makes a heartwarming documentary about his therapist, Phil Stutz, and eventually realizes that the film is also about his own personal growth and their therapeutic relationship.

Stutz’s style is refreshing. “Anyone can take an unpleasant experience and turn it into an opportunity”. I respect how he highlights basics (85% of early therapy gains are about exercise + sleep + diet) and more complex ideas (cultivating active love for people that have hurt you, not to forgive them as much as for you to move on). He’s able to say complicated things fairly simply, a skill I aspire to, and reveals a lot of his own struggles with humility and playfulness. All in all it’s smart, funny, and helpful. (It looks like there’s a lot more Phil Stutz for those that dig it)

With love, Jordan
