ChatGPT for Shadow Work 👾

We’re still at the very beginning of creativity in how we use
ChatGPT, the incredible AI Chatbot that heralds a coming sea change in human experience that’s possibly even more wild than the printing press, the industrial revolution, or the internet.

The other night I was journaling after narrowly avoiding a highly triggered argument. I typed my blamey feelings into ChatGPT and asked it to communicate my needs in a way that wouldn’t make the reader defensive. It was good; I edited it and sent a well-received email! Better yet, I found myself resisting some of the AI’s suggestions. This resistance highlighted exactly where I was still clinging to shadowy elements: Needing to make my conversation partner wrong, believing in separate interests, believing I was powerless.

So if you find yourself unable to get past your anger, frustration, or victim story, maybe chatGPT can provide a mirror, helping you identify the source, and eventually take more responsibility so you can speak more with more truth. And more love.

With love, Jordan
