Distinction btw scary and dangerous; drunk driving and clear glass bridge 🚙

Yesterday a friend mentioned this great distinction between scary and dangerous. They’re not the same!

Walking on a clear glass bridge is scary (for many people) but not dangerous.

Drunk driving isn’t scary (for many) but is extremely dangerous.

Personal growth practitioners like to think we’re “more conscious” than… other people? But I think we’re more likely to mistake our subjective experience for the truth—which doesn’t sound so evolved. Especially when we make unwise decisions based on our feelings (scary!), or ignore facts (this is dangerous!), or even think two consenting adults can exist isolated from societal impacts.

While I’m on a rant (and because we’re having fun, right?): Non-duality isn’t confusing your opinion with the facts.

With love, Jordan
