🪧 Relating around politically charged topics: "Everybody is right"

“I have one major rule: Everybody is right. More specifically, everybody —including me— has some important pieces of truth, and all of those pieces need to be honored, cherished, and included in a more gracious, spacious, and compassionate embrace.” - Ken Wilber

In the next topic, I'd like to touch on a challenging piece of content. But before going into it, there's a meta-takeaway I believe is more important to highlight: Relating around politically charged topics is difficult to do well, but well worth doing. I believe we're all practicing the skill to do this in our Focus and Flow sessions, and especially in Level Up ⬆️. We're embodying Ken Wilber's one major rule: "Everybody is right", in conversation. We facilitate emotionally fraught discussions by bringing more mindfulness in, claiming our experience, being deeply empathetic, and paying attention to relating-itself. We do it by including growth hierarchies and discernment and boundaries. We can synthesize seemingly opposite straw-man points of view (eg: Climate change real and all pollution evil! Climate change fake and political bs!) into a much more nuanced, loving, and truthful engagement. And we're uniquely good at practicing doing that in situations where we personally have opinions and charges about the topics (like my own fear about this post!).

Now let's do this with some content, click here...

With love, Jordan
